IFFT Tokyo 2009
--

In collaboration with StokkeAustad we were invited to design and art direct an exhibition at IFFT Tokyo, Japan. When receiving the invitation we had 3 weeks before traveling to Tokyo to set up the exhibition. The short deadline and no products on show (due to shipping time) was turned into the basis for the exhibition concept. We decided to focus on a common theme between product and graphic design which is the process. Included in the process theme were also the story behind the products and construction of the actual exhibition.

The fact that no products were on show made viewers take bigger part in the exhibition and opened up for interesting dialogues. To accompany the exhibition we designed a newspaper and three posters which promoted our studios, some products and the actual design process with timelines and details about what was done each day until printing. The end result was well received among the visitors, and the japanese printer did an amazing job on the accompanying material. A big thanks to Norwegian External Affairs, Norsk Form and the Norwegian Embassy, which made it possible for us to take part in the exhibition. To see more photos visit our Flickr website.
