Identity and promotional material for the norwegian design-seminar Edit 09.effect, hosted by Grafill. The concept and idea is based on the theme effect. An effect is regarded as a concluded result, and can be used as a base for directions chosen while developing. The overall idea was to research a form of “study” on the effect of design, in which the seminars target-group took part in the process of building the identity. A number of questions was answered by the audience and the identity was built upon results from a democratic process. The identity was built in 3 stages where each stage was followed by a newspaper presenting the seminar and the questions which was used as guidelines for the design-process.
The outcome of our study turned into the material designed for the actual event. During this process we worked as editors for the newspapers as well as writers. As Edit is a seminar concerned about content in design as opposed to form we invited Theodor Barth, a social anthropologist to write a column for every newspaper, reflecting on the theme.
The material designed for the seminar included logo, website, signs, posters, banners, roll-ups, digital presentations, animations, stationery, newspapers, advertising, name tags, elements for online media, t-shirts etc. To see the animations for the event click this link.
